The Consumer Protection Authority in cooperation with ABB Oman launched a recall campaign for 17,582 pieces of the DSE201M overcurrent and ground leakage protection circuit breaker produced during the period from February 2021 to December 2021.

This recall comes due to a defect in one of the components of the circuit breaker which leads to the lack of protection against the earth leakage current which increases the risk of electric shock. Therefore, the Corporation requests that anyone who used the defective model immediately stop and return it to the wholesaler or distributor or contact the company to examine the product and make the necessary repairs.

These recalls confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of safety in cooperation with commodity agencies to preserve the lives and safety of consumers as well as to provide them with the necessary protection and come in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets
