The Consumer Protection Authority in cooperation with the Oman Marketing and Services Company launched a recall campaign for 207 Honda marine engines model 2022 whereby marine engines of the type (BF175D) with the code (BBSJ) were recalled based on the chassis numbers from (1010003) to (10111032) and (8010001) to (8011002)
Also, engines of the type (BF200D) with the code (BBRJ) were recalled depending on the chassis numbers from (1000017) to (1013729) and (800012) to (8011053). In addition to recalling engines of type BF225D and bearing the code (BBPJ) based on the chassis numbers from (1000004) to (1013426) and from (8000002) to (8012093). Furthermore, a number of BF250D engines were recalled with the code (BBNJ) based on the chassis numbers from (1000047) to (1018616) and from (8000015) to (8013300). While engines of the type BFT200D were recalled with the code BBRJ depending on the chassis numbers from (6000002) to (6011013) and from (7010001) to (7011001). In addition, engines of the type BFT225D were recalled they bear the code BBPJ depending on the chassis numbers from (6000001) to (6011020), and from (700001) to (7011005). While engines of the type BFT250D have been recalled and it bears the code BBNJ depending on the chassis numbers from (6000004) to (6011041) and from (7000003) to (7011015).
This recall comes due to damage to the water pipe as the cooling water leaks from the pipe into the engine cover which leads to the stop of the starter and the fuel pump. Thus the engine malfunctions and stops turning. Accordingly, the agency will replace the hose materials.
These summonses confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with agencies working in the field, to preserve the lives and safety of consumers, and to provide the necessary protection for them, and come in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets.
