According to China's quality watchdog, Nissan will recall 2,855 of Infiniti cars. The recall will begin in Dec 24, 2013.
The recall involves Infiniti M25L and M35L manufactured between Jan 19, 2012 and Aug 26, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
Those vehicles may have defective rear-door locks, which in extreme cases may appear to be locked while it is actually not, thus posing safety hazards, the statement said.
Nissan China Investment Co Ltd will replace faulty parts for affected car owners free of charge, according to the statement.
