The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) issued the Decree No 209/2012 which stated that appetizing product (Ginseng Kianpi Pil) shall neither be marketed nor distributed for containing several disease-causing chemicals. In order to maintain and protect the public health, all quantities of the product shall be withdrawn from the Sultanate’s markets, as stated in Article (2). Article 3 of the Decree states that anyone violating the terms of this decision shall be punished based on Article 21 of the Consumer Protection Law. This decision shall come into force on the date of issue.


This ban decision comes as pursuant to Royal Decree No. 26/2011 establishing the Public Authority for Consumer Protection, Royal Decree No. 53/2011 issuing the Public Authority for Consumer Protection Regulation, the Consumer Protection Law issued under Royal Decree No. 81/2002, Decision No. 49/2007 issuing the Implementing Instrument for the Consumer Protection Law.

Moreover, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) issued decree No 208/2012 which stated that marketing and distribution of hot sauce powder (Neralla) shall be banned. In order to maintain and protect public health, all quantities of the mentioned product shall be withdrawn from the Sultanate’s markets, as stated in Article (2). Article 3 of the Decree states that anyone violating the terms of this decision shall be punished based on Article 21 of the Consumer Protection Law. This decision shall come into force on the date of issue, Article (4).
